Funding your subscription

Some families are able to put the Care Team plan toward an existing funding package or benefit, instead of paying for it out of pocket. Here's a general starting point — not a promise of eligibility, since that always comes down to your own plan, provider, or program.

Village Hub doesn't provide financial, tax, or benefits advice. Every program below has its own rules, and they change — always confirm eligibility with your own plan manager, support coordinator, aged care provider, benefits caseworker, or accountant before relying on this, and before submitting any claim.

Australia

NDIS

Self-managed participants have sometimes claimed similar support-coordination tools under Capacity Building — Improved Daily Living, Core Supports — Consumables, or Assistive Technology — Low Cost AT, depending on what's in their plan. Plan-managed and agency-managed participants should check with their plan manager or support coordinator first.

Home Care Package

Home Care Packages can generally be used flexibly for goods and services that help someone stay independent at home, within what your provider and package budget allow — care-coordination tools are the kind of thing worth raising with your provider or Care Partner.

CHSP (Commonwealth Home Support Programme)

CHSP funding is more tightly tied to specific approved services than a Home Care Package, so whether a subscription like this fits depends entirely on your service provider's arrangement — ask them directly.

DVA (Department of Veterans' Affairs)

DVA Home Care and Community Nursing arrangements are managed case-by-case — your DVA case manager or provider can tell you whether a tool like this fits your existing services.

United States

Medicaid HCBS Waivers

Some state Home and Community-Based Services waivers cover "remote support" or care-coordination technology as part of an approved plan — this varies a great deal by state and by individual plan, so check with your waiver case manager.

VA Aid & Attendance / Caregiver Support

Veterans and family caregivers with VA benefits should raise a tool like this with their VA caregiver support coordinator to find out whether it fits an existing benefit or reimbursement pathway.

FSA / HSA

Software subscriptions aren't automatically an eligible medical expense under a Flexible Spending Account or Health Savings Account — it usually needs to be tied to a specific diagnosed condition, sometimes with a Letter of Medical Necessity from a provider. Check with your FSA/HSA administrator before assuming it qualifies.

Long-term care insurance

Some long-term care insurance policies reimburse care-coordination or care-management costs. Your policy documents, or a call to your insurer, will tell you what's actually covered.

Something else, or private funding

Not seeing your situation above? The same approach applies: check with whoever manages the funding — a plan manager, insurer, employer benefit, or your own accountant — about whether a subscription like this is a claimable or reimbursable expense.

Getting a receipt

Once you're subscribed, every payment gets its own receipt under Billing & receipts — download or print it to attach to whatever claim process your funding body uses.
